Huanglong National Park, while often overshadowed by Jiuzhaigou National Park, is definitely worth the visit to see its unique mineral formations and the many colors within its pools and cascading waterfall sections. It is one of the largest travertine formations in the world. In fact, the more we visit this park, the more and more we like it. It is so unique. It can easily be added to any itinerary as a half-day or full day visit while traveling through Songpan and Jiuzhaigou Counties.
Entrance fee: 210 RMB per adult. Cable Car: 80 RMB per person.* (High Season Rates)
Our recommendation is that you take the cable car. It will drop you about 2/3 of the way up the valley which is very steep. From the top of the cable car, keep walking up to see the Five Colored Pool at the top. From there, work your way down on foot to the entrance. Give yourself at least 4 hours to visit the park.
